Shri Banshi Dhar Sharma (Chief Advisor)

An IPS Officer of West Bengal cadre. Has held a number of important charges in Police Department including the charge of Addl. S.P., Barrackpore, Superintendent of Police, Murshidabad and South-24 Parganas Districts and Dy. Commissioner of Police in Calcutta Police before being promoted as D.I.G of Police.

Has also worked in Border Security Force as DIG at Jaisalmer and IG in Jammu & Kashmir, both charges on Indo-Pak border.

Was posted as Inspector General of Correctional Services, West Bengal for five and a half years and was Head of prisons in West Bengal during this period. As Head of Prisons of West Bengal State, a number of path-breaking initiatives were taken by him. He, among many other initiatives, introduced the concept of culture therapy for transformation of the inmates in correctional homes by exploring their hidden talents and imparting them with human dignity through public performances and exhibitions of their talents in various fields.

He is currently ADG,BSF and Special DG East.

Alokananda Roy (Founder -Secretary)

A trained danseuse of international repute, Odissi dancer, actress and social activist, Alokananda has performed all over the world for the last 50 years. Since 2007, however, she has been deeply involved with the Correctional facilities in West Bengal and her culture therapy has had a major impact on the inmates in particular and the society at large. Today, Tagore’s Dance Drama `Balmiki Pratibha’ choreographed Roy has travelled the length and breadth of India and created ripples in various parts of the world. For the first time convicted prisoners, serving their term, have come out to perform – the jailed with their Jailors – to standing ovations.

Ahin Choudhuri (President)

He is a Senior Advocate and Barrister.Called to the Bar by Inner Temple. He is associated with several cultural and social organizations.

Subir Mitra (Vice President)

He is Managing Director, Ananda Publishers Pvt Ltd. He was an active sports person during his school and college days. Regular participant of today’s cultural events in Kolkata as recitation artiste and background voice narrator.

Sumita Banerjea (Asst.Secretary)

Educated at Loreto Convent, Darjeeling & Loreto College Kolkata,has worked with Philips India Limited for over 24 years. Currently retired from Nevaeh Technology Pvt. Ltd. Also, a Committee Member of Loreto Convent Darjeeling Alumnae Association, Kolkata and a member of Bharat Soka Gakkai.

Satyabrata Das (Member)

Former Secretary, Kolkata Port trust, he has been associated with welfare activities in the area of adult education, higher education for meritorious but under-privileged students from rural areas, rehabilitation of abandoned children etc. for a long time.

Achin Choudhury (Member)

An Area Sales Executive in Rochem Separation Systems (I)Pvt. Ltd. Achin, is also an Associate Member of various social and cultural organizations.

Rina Mukhuty (Member)

A Graduate of Kolkata University, has worked with Life line and Narendra Seva Trust as an Accountant for 10 years. Also completed M.Music in classical from Rabindra Bharati ( Bronze Medal ) and got the 3rd prize for short story writing ( Prochestha) ,organized by Bharat Bangla desh Cultural Society. A regular participant in cultural events during college days.

Subrata Ghose Chaudhuri (Member)

A businessman with several businesses in Kolkata like Krystal Chopstick, Tero Parbon, etc. and associated with various NGOs like Rare Earth Foundation.
